Seeking to define and preserve the human difference

'Pasado' means 'Past' -- what we are trying to do is preserve the ability to write in the way we wrote before AI turned creativity into a wasteland.

Where we as writers, in an effort to preserve and recognize the implicit Value of human development and communication that derives from learning and forming a flawless abilityh to write in a manner that distinguishes us from machines, it becomes necessary to form a more perfect alignment between words of creativity and words of machinery. "Good fences make good neighbors." Ethical boundaries between human and machine systems create a tall fence; one not easily tunneled under or breached. The bonds which many software companies have forged between the writing surface and their "helper" ai or near-ai systems must be fenced off from the surface upon which the writer creates. Some bridges must be burned, but some must be built, and the new bridges must have the highest level of security. PasadoDocs emerges at a time in history when the line between human creativity and machine output has begun to significiantly blur Machine content on the internet likely surpasses human content. At no time has it been more imperative that the human voice of the past is preserved and recorded in it's inalterability. To do that, we have to learn what separates human voice from machine voice. And, those who are doing the machine-voice injection into their platforms can't be the ones to certify originality. Pasado Labs, LLC, has begun the journey of discovery, performing deep, harmonic, disharmonic, lexigraphical, and other energistic and ergodic analyses. We believe we have arrived at a capability that can, at least, identify YOU from YOUR writing. It is not an easy path! Writers have different styles they use for different things. They may write trade journal articles by day, science fiction by night. PasadoDocs allows you to create different writer roles -- each role then becomes the seed for your Core for That Role.

We, as writers, believe in the evidence -- that writing improves the mind and heals the soul. That the creativity and content of human experience that pours into a writers works can move and improve others in ways that machines cannot -- even if it is just because you have the knowledge at hand that a human wrote it. That someone cared enough to sit down and do more than just write a prompt and fire off some automation. And that it is our inalienable right to have our words be recognized as organically -- humanically -- derived. That to secure these rights, an applicaiton must be used that denies access to its writing surface to anything not human. That said application must be able to, without the aid of assisting artificial intelligence, track and maintain a transcript of formulation -- a document that details how the document was created. How many words per minute did the writer type? how many words changed? how many were copy and pasted in? And that the writer MUST have TOTAL visibility and access to said transcript.

Software word processing applications and artificial intelligences are human institutions that derive their ability to do business from humans. When any Form of said organisational institutions become destructive to humanity, it is the Right of the End Users to select a new tool for writing that nurtures a cooperative, citational, provenance based relationship between a writer's creative work, and supporting materials (quotes, citations, other research, other opinions).

The foundation of this endeavor, of Pasado Labs, LLC, is built upon these principals:

1. Put the customer experience first. A defect is, categorically, anything that diminishes the writing/editorial/publishing experience.

2. We will never alter the interface so drastically that you can't find anything anymore.

3. We will meet the needs of our customers, developing features and toolsets that continue to evolve with the ever evolving artificial intelligence landscape, and strive for the highest quality.

5. We will ship broken software. We strive to become better and not to make the same mistakes twice.

6. Be efficient and respectful of resources. Waste not, want not.

7. Embrace the talents and insights of our customers and our community.

8. Stand firm on the foundation that humanity is not disposable.

We seek to define and preserve the human difference.

That's the whole point of this effort. Preserving human creativity in its purest form, and not using massive cloud infrastrucutre or charging massive prices for the privilege of being you. Well, it's not really a privilege. Privileges can be revoked. It is your inalienable right to be human, and that is the difference we want to make, we want to enable everyone to be able to show who they are without fear.

The goal of the system isn't to recognize AI -- it is to recognize you.

And crucially, the algorithms underneath don't have to know the answer. They measure distinctiveness, provenance and stylistic neighborhood. The human gets to decide what those measurements mean.

I don't want this tool to be used to be the police. I want it to be used by writers, to write, to preserve humanity. To allow them to freely interact with the ai, and not worry if the ai spills into their work -- because we'll see it. I want them to stay paired together, to focus on the writer, not on punishment. Lives need to stop being ruined.
